eczema in ears?

hi
i suffer from a bit of eczema, mainly on my face which i think is caused by stress as thats when it seems to flare up. i normally get it in my hairline and around the sides of my nose. anyway, recently ive started getting what i think is eczema inside my ears-yuk!
it itches like mad so i cant help but scratch it, normally this would cause bleeding but it doesnt, instead it weeps so that i get all this yukky stuff running out of my ears. then later on it crusts over-its gross. within a day or two its itching again!!
does this sound like eczema? i know it can flare up in different places at anytime but ive never had anything like this before. i usually clean that area of my ear with a cotton bud but havent done it for a while cuz i ran out and it seems to be since then this has started.
ive got some eczema cream (hydracortisone) but dont really wanna put that in my ear!
any advice anyone?

Re: eczema in ears?

I have something similar... Have on and off dry/flaky skin (probably eczema) behind my ears... and from time to time it gets in my ears as well.

The skin gets dry/flaky/itchy... you scratch... it weeps... it crusts... it itches... repeat.

In my case I find that if I leave it alone it goes away or gets tolearable fairly quickly... also if if use cortizone on the backs of my ears for that eczema that it seems to help all around.

I wouldnt put cortizone in your ears unless a doc says its ok... the stuff thins your skin and the skin is pretty thin in there to begin with.

Sorry im not more help.

Re: eczema in ears?

I never had eczema in my ears. I have suffered from eczema primarily on my arms and face. I've tried many over the counter medications and spent lots of money $$$$ on doctors visits and prescriptions medications. None of these compared to mayiah. Its an all natural herbal oil literally erased the eczema from my face and arms. Within 3 weeks my face was cleared and only small red patches remained around my elbows. Now when ever a break out occurs a little maintence application is all it takes within a few days my face is clear again. google mayiah for more info.

Re: eczema in ears?

You might want to research a condition called "seborrhoic dermatitis" to see if any of the symptoms fit you.

HTH!
