Fungal Infection on Face

I have had a fungal infection on my face for over 2 months now and I just can't get rid of it.

My GP prescribed me hydrocortisone but this does not appear to be working.

My infection looks similar to this:

If you could give me some advice on getting rid of it I would be eternally grateful.

Many thanks.

Re: Fungal Infection on Face

My understanding is that any of the cortisons serve to "fix" the problem topically. I.e., it's a cosmetic fix, not a permanent one. You may be a candidate for one of those oral anti-fungal treatments. I think you have to take it for a long time, but it could be worth it. I recommend talking with your GP and maybe seeing a Dermatologist, too. Good luck!

Re: Fungal Infection on Face

Look in the Foot treatment AND Jock itch section of the pharmacy there are all kind of anti fungal creams. Hydrocortisone will reduce any itch or swelling but will not kill fungus. Be careful with hydrocortisone over use will thin your skin.

Back to the fungus creams and sprays. Once the rash is gone continure to use for a period of time or it will come back worse than before.
