scabies help - Skin Problems Message Board

hello,

i think ive actually had scabies for a while..mayber over a year...for that amount of time i off and on develop bumps on my hands, and they itch, it starts out red but sometimes they will be just like a blister that is poppable...and will scab over if broken....ive dealt with it and havent brought it to anyones attention cuz well...i dunno call it ignorance....well it was gone for a while but has come back and its embarassing cuz of the red marks and scabs i have on my hands and fingers, im real close to just goin to the doctor....BUT now im afraid of telling my girlfriend....we havent had sex, but we have been close...and i know scabies can spread even just by being on my bed sheets and stuff.....im afraid shes gonna think im gross and i like gave her an std....im not afraid of goin to the docs myself but its the girlfriend aspect, if i do have scabies i need to tell her...how do i go about this? without scaring her or grossing her out....shes a few years younger than me....

any help about any of this will be much appreciated

heya, i had scabies twice last summer. i don't think that what you have can be scabies, as you would not have been able to have it for over a year. when i had it my whole body swelled up and was covered in a rash and these blisters and it was so itchy it was unbelievable..i strongly recommend you go see your doctor though..
