How to treat skin ulcers

I am a diabetic and have several skin ulcers in the folds of my skin (specifically under my stomach). Currently my blood sugar levels are under control. For the ulcers I am using Neosporin. I have used Bactraban (sp?). These ulcers start off as a small white spot and advance into a lesion/pressure sore. Once one forms, more seem to follow, until they connect. This leaves a large and sometimes deep wound that can take up to eight months to heal. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to treat or prevent these ulcers?

Re: How to treat skin ulcers

They must hurt a lot, ouch. I have found that emu oil is good for wound healing, you could try that.

Re:akazie
Thanks for the tip,I haven't ever heard of emu oil & haven't a clue where to find it,but if I can find any I certainly will try it . Ouch is right !!!!!!!!!
I currantly have 7 of these skin ulcers, ranging in size of a nickle & larger, &
i've been doctoring them since July. I have seen ads for DermaWound do you know any thing about it ? If any one else reads this & has any input about skin ulcers under the stomach i would appreciate hearing it.

Re: How to treat skin ulcers

You can buy it from ebay, make sure that you get the Australian made emu oil but, it is a lot better then the American made emu oil, I think it has to do with the diet of the farm raised birds and how it is processed.

I haven't heard of Dermawound, hopefully someone else here has. I hope that you will get some relief soon, take care.

Re: How to treat skin ulcers

I put Emu oil over my whole body, my skin is in the best condition it ever has been in my whole life. When ever I have a cut or burn myself cooking, the emu oil makes me heal faster then I normally would and it takes away the pain when I burn myself, it is excellent stuff. Do a search on the benefits of emu oil, it is used to treat a lot of skin problems.
