When I get COLD, I get lumpy????
I have this weird skin problem. No one I know or have met has experienced this, but perhaps someone here has.
When my skin gets cold, I get these strange, itchy lumps. The lumps come up in a variety of places. My hips, my butt, my thighs, my hands, my feet. Generally, the lumps are 2 - 3 cm wide, sometimes 4 -5. Sometimes one of my fingers swells up, or all of them, and sometimes my toes.
Usually, when this happens I can run my hands, feet, or whatever else, under warm water and the problem is solved. My skin is warm again. However, tonight when I went on a bike ride (it was about 50 or so degrees fahrenheit) I got a huge lump on the back of my hand. It was about 3 mm wide and stuck out about 2 cm. When I ran my hands under cold water to try and make it go away, both of my hands got very swollen and tight feeling. They looked like balloons, almost.
I really don't know what to do about this. I don't have any form of insurance, so I can't go to any kind of doctor. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
I appreciate any help I can get!
