Skin Feels Like It Has Been Burned

I woke up this morning with a strange sensation on the top upper part of my right leg with a burning sensation like I had been pricked with a hundred needles. It is sore to the touch and the sensation feels like it has been burned, but nothing happened. I can't see any red or discolored area or anything bruised, like with a spider bite but it is right above my knee and almost up to the top of my leg. Had to take some Advil to get any relief, but it still hurts. I have a cervical injury, but never had any problems with my lower torso, just upper back pain, but this feels like it is in the skin area only. Thanks for reading.
