How do I reduce the redness of my scar? - Skin Problems Message Board

I have a red and raised scar on my neck (mole removal) that I have had for quite a while (5 or so years) and it has never lost it's redness. I've been using the Neosporin patches for a while and they hadn't seemed to work very well. A few days ago, I got Mederma, but may have to stop using it because the material said if the scar starts itching and puffs up, then stop using it. When I used it, my scar did seem to be raised a little more, and it did itch, so I may have to discontinue it and go back to the patches.

However, does anyone have any idea how I can go about reducing the redness of this scar?

Hi..... I have heard that taking vitamin E oil cap and sticking a needle in the cap to allow the oil to be released and applied will help scars...so maybe it would help the swelling and redness...it would probably take a couple weeks of doing this!

I have heard some good things about serrapeptase and how it rids the body of unneccesary tissue etc...you might want to google the word and avoid the commercial sites....
