hard bump?? staph/cyst?? - Skin Problems Message Board

Hi Everyone, I need some advice. I went to the gynecologist about a month ago because I had a rash with pustules around my pubic area. Id found out I had a staph infection and fungal infection of the skin. I took a weeks worth of antibiotics and fungal cream and it seemed to have gone away. About a week after everything cleared up, 2 more pus filled itchy bumps showed up in my bikini area (above my pubic area). Then a painful bump showed up on my left butt cheek. I popped the pustules and they have healed. However, the bump on my butt cheek has not gone away, it is the same size, but is not painful unless i press on it. It also feels very hard and will not pop or anything. Is this a cyst or something? Could my staph infection have not cleared up? Any advice on what is going on here? Thanks in advance!

Hopefully, it's nothing. But, some forms of staph are quite resistant to certain antibiotics. Perhaps you needed a longer course of the drug you were on. Or you may need to take a different one. You sure don't want to take any chances with Staph. So best get back to the doctor and check it out. Good luck. Hope it's negative.
