Re: Why does my body get itchy when i am hot?

I love you guys so much, and I know what you are all going through, it stinks.

I am 16 years old and this exact same problem started happening in about November, however it was very small. Every time I would start to do something active that made me sweat at all, I would get rather small prickly feelings on the back of my neck.

Now in January the problem has drastically changed within the matter of a few months. Whenever my body is heated in any way, I get prickly feelings from the back of my neck, to my face, chest and my stomach, to my thighs and butt, and it has even progressed to my fingers. Itching the prickly areas does not make it go away, but it usually settles after about 2 minutes (2 minutes of gettin hot enough to fully sweat, or 2 minutes of cooling down) It Stinks!

Do you guys think sitting in a sauna every day for a week or so would help? I think it might open up the pores on your body, allowing your sweat and heat to progressively exit your body in an easier fashion. Just a thought.

Please Respond, Connor

Re: Why does my body get itchy when i am hot?

I read somewhere that taking Niacin got rid of this for somebody. I believe he took 1g first thing in the morning and then layed in a cold bath. He did this for 4 days which cured him. I haven't seen this "Niacin cure" documented anywhere else however. I even read that taking Niacin in such a dosage could be harmful to the liver.
I tried taking 500mg one evening and it turned me bright red all over and I felt like I was on fire, I had to go outside in my pants (underwear). Havn't noticed any relief yet, might try again tomorow night. Just something to think about (Niacin! not me in my pants).

Re: Why does my body get itchy when i am hot?

Dry skin causes this feeling, I take a lot of hot showers so my skin becomes dry in the winter time and so if I start sweating right afterwards it'll feel like needles poking at my body. I noticed that it gets worse the longer you go without sweating, so if I workout daily and break a sweat it never really bothers me.

Re: Why does my body get itchy when i am hot?

You need to believe me, I used to have this a few years ago, i read this same board, and i revisited because i felt bad for people who have the thing that used to **** me off.

1. You have got to sweat, keep those pores open, or they will close up and itch when you try to reopen them.

2. Stay out of the cold when you can, if you get too used to the cold, sudden heat will get you itching.

3. Use a good moisurizer.

4. Using a humidifier will help keep your pores open and your skin moist.

5. You have to make up your mind that somehow or the other, you are going to get that toxic sweat out, its gonna hurt, personally, my treatment felt more like a million needles poking me , but itching is the best way to descibe it to non-sufferers.

6. If you cant get rid of it in the winter, It will be gone in the summer anyway. I Promise.
