I posted a topic here a while back about me getting dry skin all round my face. It started a few months ago. I've tried many different things i.e. switching from alcohol based after shave products to non-alcohol based balms.
The reply I got for the last post was to try Nivia for men moisterising {sp} face wash. I've been trying it for a while now and if anything it is making the situation worse.
Can anyone think of anything else? I've been using a dry skin formula to help cover it up but i want to cure it altogether. The best way to describe what it looks like is very flakey, mostly around my chin and cheekbones.
I'm sorry the Nivea didn't work for you. Some people swear by Vaseline Petroleum Jelly because it seals in moisture. But, don't slather it on. If you try it, just use a thin layer of it. Others swear by a cooking oil like Olive Oil. I would try the Vaseline before Olive Oil. I think I was the one who suggested the Nivea so, I can understand if you are a bit weary about taking anymore of my advice.
I am really sorry the Nivea made it worse. It just goes to show that what works for one may not be the best thing for another.
Thank you for the suggestion. I honestly cant remember if it was you or not who suggested the face wash but it doesnt matter. Its not as if it was your intention or you knew that would happen. Like you said what works for one may not work for another.
As for the vaseline, do I just apply that straight to my face? Or do i have to do any kind of..er.. preperation?
Just want to say thank you to Hating Glasses. Would have done it over a pm but im not sure how to do that on this site.
I tried the vaseline and it worked a charm. What was good about was that I only needed to use the smallest bit. I'm gonna go out and buy my own pot now .
