I am a 26-year-old girl. I have had pimples for over 13 years now. Went to all the leading specialists in the city, tried it all, yet i am nowhere close to getting rid of them. I have had my major flares when i am totally stressed out. I have tried just about everything that was within my financial means. Frustrated with everything, I recently was surfing the net and found out about garlic as a means. Now, that was something that I could afford and wanting to try it out, I did. I had read enough on the net to learn that it would burn the skin and that it would then dry out and peel out. It did happen so with me as well. I never could just tape it down to my skin overnight and let it stay on...it reallllly burns. So, I started by just light applications quite frequently.

Tried it for about a week initially, my skin did burn and dry and then peel off. I was working, so i couldn't afford to continue using it...it really messes up the picture and its hard to go out with burnt skin...people staring at u for all the wrong reasons is certainly not desirable. But i have to say, I felt that my acne did reduce significantly, which was why I was keen on trying it further.

After stopping for three weeks after the first attempt, I started again light applications in the night for about half an hour and then would apply ice and then would go to sleep. Things went fine.

I applied for leave at work and then two days ago started treatment again full fledged...thinking i would be able to apply more frequently now and take care of the problem. To the contrary, after the first two applications about 1-2 hours apart each, my face became so red that i cant even explain it. It felt like i wanted to scratch it..resisted it though. Within a few hours, the areas where i had applied the garlic had slightly swollen because of this fluid collection underneath..I dont know whether it was pus or what..it was clear liquid.

My face is now so red that i cant even think of going out....applied Betnovate-N in the night and went to sleep. The redness is subsiding, as is the fluid collection (slowly though).

I need help...does anyone know why this happened?

I really wish i could get rid of the pimples...i dont know whether they are my friends or foe...they have certainly stuck along much longer than anyone else i know. How i wish they leave me alone...
