Ring Worm With No Itchies?

I have a dry, red circle shape area on my leg that looks like what people describe as ringworm, but it does not itch at all. Does ringworm always itch? Also, another smaller spot appeared near it. Also does not itch. Very dry, slightly raised and red.

Does this sound like ringworm, or something else?

Re: Ring Worm With No Itchies?

It may be but without a proper diagnosis it can be hard to tell. My youngest had ringworm when she was little and it started as a small round spot and grew and looked like rings. If you think this is ringworm, try the anti-fungal creams available over the counter. That's what our doctor recommended. The stuff they use for athletes foot or jock itch. Same stuff. Won't hurt to try it.
If that fails, could be psoriasis. When my legs act up thats what it looks like, but it does itch for me.

Re: Ring Worm With No Itchies?

hey HIM,
I got one of these to pop up thursday of last week that dont itch..I thought ringworm too. although, I never had them before..I did a search for pictures of ringworm and it said they itch most times and on occasion dont itch. they also show up on the face/jaw area..mine was on the lower side of my tummy. would not have know it was there if I had not seen it.

Anyway, if I remember corectly for it to be a ringworm the dry is on the outside of the ring not on the inside of the ring.. and once it starts healing it looks like it has maybe a second ring on the inside of the outside one..arrrggg not 100% sure on that one. or that could have been the bulls eye rash for lymes diease..anyway my point is my circle didnt match either one of thoes circles.
Then I came accross a picture of well, several pictures of one that looked just like mine and acted just like mine..it is called Erythema Annulare Centrifugum..then I went to read about it..OMG I only have the one and the more I read about it the more it looked like thats what I have..the only differents is its been 6 days now and so far no new circles has poped up thank God! one popped up last night in the same area but it was just a hive..yes I get thoes too. (they do itch) the hive was gone this morning.

The main thing to keep in mind is only a doctor can tell you what it is!he can scrap it for a sample and look at it under a microscope to determine what it is..dont panic!! it may be ringworm after all or a simple rash.

dont laugh but I allso read where if its a ringworm you can take a pen and draw a circle around it and it wont spread past the circled..I didnt have a pen handy..I did have a black prem sharpie handy tho..LOL..its not spreading past the mark but it aint going away yet either the marker or the circle

good luck with your circle and please keep an update going ~take care~

Re: Ring Worm With No Itchies?

I had ringworm once too and it did not itch at all. Anti-fungal cream gets rid of it.
