I have naturally oily skin, especially on my face and scalp.
My only recourse is to shower two to three times a day (usually just morning and night), use a body wash with saylacilic acid (SP?), and during the day I am constantly splashing water on my face and wiping it thoroughly with a dry cloth or paper towel.
This seems to help, but it is a bit of a nuisance.

I wish I had better words of advice for you. Sorry.

Re: oily/shiny skin

I put Persa gel benzoyl peroxide before I put on my make-up. Also, have you tried those oil blotting sheets? One brand is clean & clear but I think they all work about the same.

Re: oily/shiny skin

I don't have a suggestion for relieving the shine however, I am going to post a question about a mysterious fungus/parasite that I have been battling. If you haven't had it all your life I instinctivly think pregnancy, or fungus on your skin.

If it has not spread since the onset of symptoms then it's probably glandular or hormonal.

oil absorbing pads work for my similar symptoms.

I hope you get well soon...I know how much skin problems can cripple your confidence.
