Howdy. =)
For about 3 years now, my husband has had a red, scaly patch on his lower back, about on his left hip. It's grown, very slightly, over this time. The skin is very dry and raised. He itches at it often, but most usually after a hot shower or during cold weather (I'm guessing the skin gets drier).
He refuses to go to the doctor. He doesn't want all the tests involved in diagnosing, and I can't argue with him anymore.
Soo...common causes? Anything that I could do to maybe get it to lessen, like moisturizers or creams? He has highly sensitive skin, so I'm limited in what I can force on him morning and night.
