Scary arm pit...HELP! - Skin Problems Message Board

It started out as just itching and then it became a lump and it went away then it came back and it became sores and puss started coming out and it smells.It started ruining my clothes.I went to the doctor and he just gave me pills for infections but it still didnt work. I cant put deodorant on it because it starts itching.Its very dry and if i scratch it will start peeling and pussing. So now i just put a guaze on it so it can stop ruining my clothes and so i cant scratch it.I need some advice if you can please help.

It sounds as though you may have an infection and need to see a doctor. If you can't, for some reason, you should wash it with antibacterial soap and put something like neosporin on it before you put the gauze on it.

I agree with the previous reply.. ie., neosporin BUT I would also get some peroxide in there as often as possible. If its in a difficult location to pour the peroxide over, dump some on a cotton ball until its saturated and then squeeze it out onto the sore. The peroxide helps to kill infections. If possible, I would put peroxide on it every couple hours for a couple days in a row. And I second the motion to get back to the doctor and get that checked out.
