| Rash/fungal Infection
Hi, Just thought I would post my experience with an annoying, red, itchy rash I developed last week. I woke up in the middle of the night itching like crazy on my right side area, and also a tiny bit on the left. I noticed some bumps around the area, and it appeared as red patches around the bumps. Used Cortizone5 for a day or so, then it went away. But, came back again and this time I went to the doc as it was also in the armpit area. The doctor described it as being a fungal infection...to my horror! Went on to explain it isn't contageous, and is something that pops up on people in warm areas of their skin. I think the medical name is Candida. I really got upset and thought it was something I picked up in a public bathroom, although I am careful.
The doctor assured me it is just something that happens, the spores are in the air, and it isn't dangerous. Happy to say the doc perscribed some cream and it is all gone now. Just thought I would post and maybe some of you with strange rashes might want to look into my diagnosis. There are so many kinds of rashes, so I guess the best thing would be to go to a doctor if you can.
