about 10 days ago the side of my hand below the pinky finger was itchy. then it got sore but there were no marks. it did seem as if one of the cracks on the hand was cracked. a couple of days ago I put a bit of hydrocortisone on it and awhile later I noticed a couple of red spots on my hand. today one of the spots looks to have a couple of little bumps, maybe blisters? it is small, so it is hard to tell. my husband thinks it is exzema. it's not itchy though. my hand is sore. can eczema be sore and not itchy?

I have been wondering the same thing. I went to a number of dermatologists and a couple said it was eczema. My rash happens to be in my leg creases and it hurts. The skin feels different and sometimes turns red. When it was real bad it was red and then it itched bad. I applied fungal spray and it stopped itching and then the color went back to normal. The doctors claim it's not fungal.
My rash hurts just about all the time, especially when I do a lot of walking.
I had a biopsy to try to find out what it was. But no answer, they just said that it wasn't psoriasis.
This is totally screwing up my life. I am a 43 year old and was in excellent shape before this started. I was running and swimming just about every day. Now I gained 30 lbs and feel as if my life is over. I am in construction and am having a hard time getting my job done.
Apparently eczema is becoming a problem for a large portion of the adult population. While before it primarily affected kids and they usually grew out of it.

I had this problem last year . I also tried hydrocortisone cream . I gave only temporary relief and when the next time the itching and redness was more intense . Then i did some home remedy . I applied ice cube wrapped in a thin cloth on the site and believe me just in 2 ,3 days the problem was gone and it never came back .
Just try this and see of it helps you or not .

ice... thanks for the tip. I have put zinc cream on it and it has helped a bit. interesting that eczema is on the rise in adults.
