| irritated vein?
Hi, has anyone ever had an IV in the arm and pain bad pain in that same arm for over 1 week? Well, I had to have IV fluids over a week ago when I was sick and took a visit to the ER. They also gave me phenergan which I hear is pretty rough on the veins. After, I experienced severe pain in my right arm from the IV sight all the way up my arm, after 4 days I went back to the ER to get them to check it, it was killing me and had red slouches. They ran an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot, I didnt have one but said I had phlebitis in my arm from the IV. Ok now a week & 1 day later still rough to bend it down and still really sore at the elbow with some pink splouches and a knot there as well. Has anyone went thru this? How long did it take to get over? They say to apply warm compresses & elevate it, ok any advice? thanks
