Red, bumpy, itchy, dry rash on chin - Skin Problems Message Board

I have some kind of red, bumpy, dry, itchy rash along the side of my mouth and chin. I tried using my boyfriend's Elidel cream on it, but it didn't seem to work. I have just recently been using an oil comprised of almond, sunflower, orange, lemon, lime, and avocado oils. I haven't used this oil long enough to know if it works Does anyone have any idea what this rash might be or what kind of cream might work best? I realize that I may have to suck it up and go to the doctor to get a steroid or something, but I thought I would try this first. Thanks!

may be psoriasis or exzema. i have had psoriasis since age 10. does your family have any history up to your grandparents? i dont usually get it on my face but when i shaved my beard one year had some on my chin. if you are a light case garlic may work. take a clove and rub it on your area at night. it will probably burn some but may get rid of it. that was suggested to me years ago and worked some in light areas. hope you get better, probably go to dermatologist to be safe.

After many doctors and test and then my own research I found something that works. It is called Coal Tar and is found in a medicine called Psoriasin. I feel instant relief. I put it on 2-3 times a day for about an hour then I rinse my face with cold water. I have used it for a week now and my rash has faded very much and the sores are not painful anymore and the bleeding stopped. I hope with continued use my rash will go away permanently. It cost about 6 dollars at your local pharmacy and it works wonders. So forget those expensive doctors and test that seem to have not answered your problem Get Coal Tar. Psoriasin by name although there are other brands a little more expensive like 10 dollars but have the same Coal Tar ingredient. It is an old school remedy. I believe it will work for you.
