Skin looking very old after weight loss

Hi all,

I'm 22 years old and since losing about 49lb (203lb down to 154lb), that my skin is looking very old. Old to the point that most people I meet are shocked that I am only nearly 23 years old, with most of them thinking I'm about 10 years older. I mean looking a few years older or younger is fine, but when the majority of people think you're a decade older than you actually are it can become a bit demoralizing. I lost the weight fairly quickly, but not in a crash diet type way; the process took around 6-7 months. Additionally, I have friends who have lost similar amounts of weight over similar periods and haven't suffered any of the side effects.

I don't want anyone to think I'm on here being vain when others have serious health problems, but it is having a marked effect on my confidence, to the point where the confidence gained from losing the weight has been completely negated by my appearance being of someone considerably older.

Has anyone got any advice, things that can be done or products to use that may be able to mitigate or ease the problem. However, I do have a feeling that this is going to be one of those problems I'll be told to deal with.

Thanks in advance

Re: Skin looking very old after weight loss

First off, I am a 55 yr. old woman who lost over 40 lbs. about two years ago. I also had the same problem that you describe with my skin. U-G-L-Y -- in certain places, particularly the inside of the arm where you bend the elbow; stomach and butt. I lost so much of my ***, that I could not take a bath (too painful to sit on the hard porcelin tub). However, that was then, and this is now!. All of that is in the past. How??? I became an "excerise bullimic" and started doing the weight machines at 24-hour fitness.
If you really, really want it, you can have it. OMG, you're only 22 -- you don't have to deal with it for the rest of your life. Get a gym membership NOW, and use it.
