Thereis no harm in trying, but in general, antihistamines arnt especialy effective in eczema. Some of the older, sedating antihistamines (such as diphenhydramine/Benadryl) can reduce itching because of their sedative effect, this can be especialy useful if taken at bedtime.
To reduce itching in the day, bland emolients (such as Vanicream), wet wraps and cold packs are helpful
