Desperate! Peri-anal itch after starting new Bounce Dryer sheets???
Hi all,

I'm desperate for your help! I have had a terribly annoying peri-anal itch for 3 months! It itches any time, and is worst after a BM if not completely cleaned. I have tried: A&D, Desitin, Fungal cream, steroid cream (made it worse).

What I just realized is: it all started exactly 5 days after we started using our new Bounce dryer sheets (very scented)!! I can't believe I just thought of that!

My question is: could this be the culprit (I pray that it is - I'm re-washing all my underwear now and drying them WITHOUT any dryer sheet)? Has anyone else had a reaction like this before?

The weird thing is, most of the peri-anal skin irritation is on the left side of my anal sphincter verge - the same side where my lateral internal sphincterotomy was done for my anal fissure in December. The itch started one month after surgery, and 5-7 days after using the new dryer sheets.

I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hi

I hope you are well. I read recently your surgery experience for your fissure and you mentioned you had a great surgeon without a case of incontinence. Can you tell me name and where he is based. Going through the usual fissure symptoms. Am a guy with young family and never felt so depressed. Anyway was encouraging to hear your LIS experience so fingers crossed.
