Patch of skin that doesn't redden

Hey all --

Recently I've noticed a patch of skin on my upper back that doesn't redden or change color, really (although I believe it tanned after being at the beach in Florida day after day).

I hadn't noticed this until a couple months ago, and I'm curious what it could be. I'm also not sure if it's the same size or slightly bigger than it was before.

Any ideas?

I'm 23 years old, biracial (father is black and white, mother is white) if that helps any.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: I also wanted to say that 1) it is slightly visible at normal skin color, but obviously emphasized when the surrounding skin is reddened. 2) it's not raised or itchy or anything. It feels completely normal except a diff color.
