Hives and allergy testing

This year my allergies to mold made me ill -- and I do not want to go thru the same thing next spring. So I endured allergy testing so that I could then be injected with a low dose of mold allergen on a weekly basis -- and then suffer no more from a mold allergy.

However, it became clear that I can just generally react with hives(uriticara). Consequently, the allergist did not want to give me shots. It seems there are risks in administering an allergen and producing a more serious hives reaction.

The allergiest said that the hives relate to my hypothyroidism. However, I am relatively well treated; further, I was diagnosed 12 years ago and am surprised that I am continuing to have an autoimmune response.

This raises three questions in my mind:
Could another autoimmune issue be developing (my hypo condition is well treated)?

How serious could the hive reaction be to those shots?

Has anyone been able to suppress their hives so that they could get the allergy shots?
