Post-chafe trauma - undiagnosed problem D:
Began chafing around the perineum a few days ago after spending a lot of time walking back and forth at a festival I was working at, while wearing tight trousers. Got the scarlet badge of intense discomfort, excruciating to move around, walking around bandy-legged - the whole shebang - but it cleared up as quickly as it appeared, and I figured it had more or less ended by that point. However, woke up this morning - three days after the day I started chafing - and found that it was dry and flaky.
I mean, obviously, it's not a massive leap to make - lots of abrasion, skin damage, therefore the skin would flake. It's a bit logical so I'm not too worried.
However, I'm a little concerned by the fact that it took three days before anything appeared, and by the fact that I've googled extensively-ish and I can't find any evidence of chafing leading to flaky skin. So I just thought it'd be worth coming somewhere to double check that "yes, the flaky skin on your once-chafed balls is normal." Which it hopefully is, but I'll be worried unless I find out. And, of course, on top of that I'd like to know how best to treat it - I don't really want to be wandering around for the next however-long blazing a trail of skin like some kind of twisted groinal pepper-mill if I can possibly avoid it.
Thanks a billion, fingers crossed!
