Hypopigmentation on Neck

I am currently using retin a micro for acne vulgaris. It works good on my acne, but I'm concerned that it's causing another problem. It's known that retin a lightens skin that has been darkened by the sun or inflammation. However, I've got these spots of unusually lightened skin on my neck. Melanin is still there, but it's noticeably lighter than the rest of my skin. It's not like vitiligo spots either. It looks more like skin damage. I told my dermatologist and he doesn't know what it is, but he agreed that it may have been caused by dermatitis. I'm wondering if the retin a caused it. Have any of you had this reaction to retin a micro?
