Scar Guard or Mederma

Has anyone tried Scar Guard or Mederma for fading scars? Do any of these products work? I have scars from cutting myself from shaving and I can't get them to go away. I've already tried cocoa butter and Vita K for Scars and Bruises. Thanks for your help.

I also have scars on my legs from shaving and I really want to make them less noticeable.

Re: Scar Guard or Mederma

I read an article on Mederma yesterday and the article stated that during their research on fading scars there was no difference between placebo(untreated) and Mederma. The article also stated that Mederma contains onion extract which have everthing to do with allergic reactions and little to do with scarring.

I have heard that to fade scars just buy a bottle of vitamin E and puncture a capsule open with a needle and apply the vitamin E to the scars. Just make sure your hands are clean before applying it to your face.

Hope this helps.

Re: Scar Guard or Mederma

Please be careful in smearing any Vitamin on your face when it's in its crystalized (powdered) form. I did this, thinking it would help with some of my scars, and at first all I noticed was some burning, however the next morning I noticed my cheeks were extremely red, like they had been burnt. I don't have any experience with the gel capsules, but I advise against the crystalized capsules.

Does the Vitamin E work for scars on your legs? I have a few of them on my legs from shaving. Now I'm using Nair 4 minute formula.

Re: Scar Guard or Mederma

My mistake in my previous post I asked about the product Scar Guard, the name of the product is really Scar Zone. Also, does it matter what brand of vitamin E you use?
