It's not the coffe per-se, it is the caffeine. Caffeine is in soda water, tea, midol and other 'stuff'. If you like coffee, you can buy decaf, or half-caf. I'm 53 now and probably drink half a pot a day all by myself and I think I still look good. Just a few wrinkles around the eyes and mouth, but nothing beyond the norm. From looking at my friends older AND younger, my skin still looks really good and still has quite a bit of elasticity. If given the chance, 'they' would claim that EVERYTHING is bad for you.
it is caffeine (increasing hormone levels and increasing oil production, depleting bones of calcium) etc. etc....but is also the acids in coffee itself that are hard on the system. You can type in coffee negative side effects into any search engine on the web and it will come up with pages of WHY.
but for me I am with Marti..everything is bad for ya and me personally MUST HAVE MORNING COFFEE.
Coffee isn't great for your skin because it is dehydrating, same with any caffinated drink, like the ladies posted above. Make sure that you keep your body hydrated by drinking 8 glasses of water a day, and you shouldn't have a problem, regardless of decaf or regular coffee.
[This message has been edited by AshLin (edited 01-30-2002).]
