Hi, I have this problem with my skin that after I take a shower or bath the skin can be rubed off just as if it was dead skin.this can happen any where on my body, but main on back and legs. It is just as if I have not washed very good in days.I am over weight now but this started when I was not. I went to a doctor and he said that I have thick skin and to hydrate my skin with cream .But that just make it worse as the cream does not really go in the the skin good and when in the shower it just come out of the skin like it never really soak in. The legs do turn dark in color and after I rub the skin off it leaves the skin very dry and rough. PLEASE HELP THE IS EMBRASSESING!!:O
Find me the answer please!!!!!!
[This message has been edited by Rob5 (edited 06-07-2002).]
It's just dry skin...try using one of those body buf puf things, or just a washcloth and scrub hard. You just need to get off all the dry skin, nothing is wrong!
This happens to me after showers sometimes... I'll be toweling myself off and little skin ball things will rub off, too. BUT I found a way to avoid it, I got a mesh sponge thing (a body puff?) and use that whenever I shower, and the dead skin quit coming off after toweling. So I guess my response to this is "exfoliate."
the only difference is that it was on my neck and chest. when i would soak the top layer of rough skin would come off leaving dark ('close togeather')patches. I noticed that it would also "spread" if i rubbed it too many times for to many days. kind of giving a dirty appearance. at first i thought my pigmantation was changing. then i thought fugus? but creams and regular lotion definatly don't work. If it's the same it should came back negative for fungus or virus. They don't know what it is or what causes it. I was in luck to have a doc in the area that studies it "sort of" it mostly happens in younger people/ children. i took pills for four months (it gose away in about 3-4 weeks but you keep taking the pills to make sure it doesn't some back). it's rare so i will be amazed if it is the same thing. the doctors took a bunch of pics. lol, i always end up at those student schools.
here is the name
confluent and reticulated papillomatosis of Gouferot and Carteaud
sorry no shortened version. i advise you look at serveral different webapages because it varies depending on how dark/light your skin is and depends on the person. some of them didn't even look like what i had. it's hard to determine a skin conditions. :\ i kind of hope this is what you have so you can get rid of it.
you can leave out, Gouferot and Carteaud, of your search because those are the name of the people who found it. i found it doesn't do much good when looking.
i would give you a webpage but we can't post web addies on the board. best of luck. tell how it goes
