| | itchy flaky skin around eyes
For a few years, I've had re-occuring issues with itchy, flaky skin around my eyes. Dermatologist gave me Elidel. Worked sometimes. Went to Family physician who gave me Hydroxzine HCL, oral med and cortizone cream 1%.
Not really better.
Then a trip to Phoenix and my eyes quickly became SO inflamed that I thought I was going to die. I was up to 4 tabs of Hydroxzine a day. My eyes got worse everyday.
I left off my makeup for DAYS. Used only my tried and true Mary Kay cleanser. Used only DISTILLED WATER on my eyes. No better at all.
Had local pharmacist renew prescription for Hydroxzine HCL BUT it was too soon for my insurance to pay. I asked the young pharmacist if she could think of anything I could do in the meantime. She glanced down at my sunglasses laying on the counter. She said........"I suggest washing your glasses. Perhaps they've gotten contaminated someplace."
I immediately washed my sunglasses and my readers in liquid dish detergent. Eyes immediately quit itching and are now totally well.
Previously, I had not *noticed* anything on my glasses but.....Think about it....when my glasses were not on my face, they were shoved up on my head. Dust in the air/hair, etc. (I do not use hair spray/gels, etc)
For good measure, I now make certain my bed pillow is covered in the daytime and away from any dust.
