Skin dark red after accidental mole removal!

Hello all,

I need help!

About 3 or 4 weeks ago I shaved too hard and accidentally took off a somewhat small mole I had had on my chin all my life. It was an elevated mole and after 2 weeks the hole closed up. But the outline of the mole can still be seen because the skin is a darkish red. What can I do to make this go away/go away faster? Because it looks worse then when I had had the mole itself. Thanks! I just want the redness to go away and the skin to be the even neutral color.
