Very itchy rash lower leg

2 Attachment(s)
I have developed a very itchy rash on my lower leg that will not go away. I live in the Las Vegas, NV area and have been here about a year. My house is clean. I haven't switched any personal hygiene products, soaps, shampoos etc. I rarely go outside nobody else in my family has symptoms. It seems irritated by cremes but not my an anti itch spray. I don't have health insurance so I am hoping to identify before I see a dr if this can be treated at home.

Thanks.

Re: Very itchy rash lower leg

I just spent 2 days in Las Vegas. As during previous visits, I (and my husband) ended up with an ugly rash around my ankles and calves. It began as itchy and then progressed to a feeling of little cuts (kind of like fiberglass irritation or a really bad razor burn). I have only gotten this when visiting Vegas and noticed it the first time after walking around the City Center's construction site a couple of years ago. I just wonder if there isn't some airborne skin irritant on or around the Strip area. The rash never blistered, but now I have little scabs where the rash once was. From onset to scabs 5 days have passed.

i have something similar. reading the response, it appears i made a mistake. i saw a PA and he thought it might be eczema, but was puzzled as to why it was only on my shin. he prescribed a steroid cream which i have been using for WAAAAYYY longer than the 1 month the person in this thread mentioned.

i also no longer have insurance so a doctor is not really a possibility right now. i am confused if it is eczema or psoriasis. this is only on my shin and nowhere else. it is very itchy periodically and is really red and flaky. in this pic you can see it is white from the scratching and i scratched so much i drew blood.

any ideas? and btw, i also live in vegas.
