Skin cancer or something else?
I have had a patch of skin (about the size of a dime) on my lower right leg just above the knee for the past 17 years (appeared when I was 17) that looks very much like a Basal Cell Carcinoma. It is a red patch of skin with lots of tiny blood vessels in it. At times it *almost* completely disappears, and it appears most vividly when I am exercising or active.
It has changed somewhat over the years, but not very much - the original patch is still almost exactly the same size it was 17 years ago. But, for example, new tiny blood vessels do appear sometimes, and another patch of similar looking skin appeared about 5 years ago about an inch away from the original patch. The growth rate is beyond slow. From my research certain types of BCC look like this, but is there another explanation?
I know the real solution is to go to a doc.... please no lectures about that. Thank you.
