| Skin Pruritus and rash
Hi my Wife has a skin condition which is now becoming a problem. Probably about 12 months ago she used to say 'scratch my back please' ther was no rash present for some time. I changed our clothes washing powder to a Non Bio type however this did not solve the problem. As time has past after she scratched a rash appeared. the rash is in the from of discrete red bumps with no widespread rash present. The 'rash' is acros s her back , on the shoulder line, around over the shoulders and down the outside surfave of both arms. there is some on the back centrally towards the bottom of the spine.
The itching is now so distracting that my wife scratches quite visciouly causing the red bumps to bleed.
Our GP has recently prescribed an ointment Dermovate,to be applied sparingly twice daily, also Epaderm ( essentially liquid paraffin ) and an antihistamine tablet loratadine.
The situation seems to be improving a little.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
