Hi, tried to reply to a post by 3Sweetpeas for a rash her daughter had which sounded just like what my daughter is experiencing, but think the thread was closed. I wanted to find out if there was a solution.
My 2 years old's rash started around Christmas - one month ago or so around the time she developed a reaction to strawberries. After drinking a strawberry smoothie she developed a really bad red rash on her face and hands which went away with antihistamine which makes me believe it was an allergy. She was then left with a red rash around her mouth looking like little red bumps which spread to below her nose and which comes and goes in intensity but is always there. It doesn't itch, does not bother her and doesn't break with pus or blood. I have been to the doctor twice and was told it's contact dermatitis from eating acid foods, saliva from teething or licking her lips. I was given an ointment with low cortisone which I have used for 2 weeks now but to no avail. I have excluded salty crackers, acid foods like orange juice, oranges etc but still no change.
Hoping someone could assist with a solution as I just want my baby's skin to be clear - or find out if she is allergic to any type of foods so I can exclude them from her diet to help her. No other symptoms, she is a happy and energetic toddler
Thanks in advance.
