Hello.

My gramma bought me a 1/2 ounce of tea tree oil. I really don't need it since I don't really have pimples at the moment. I asked for the jojoba oil primarily for my lips. Anyway, she said the next time she goes to the health store she'll pick up the jojoba oil...

Anywhoo... I was wondering, can you put tea tree oil on lips? Or will it damage them and dry them out?

don't use it on your lips...it will dry them out. I have used it on a cold sore in the corner of my mouth before, it healed it up fast and I applied vitamin Ee oil straight after to avoid it completely drying out...it still dried it out a little...tea tree can be very drying.

Yeah, I kinda figureg it'd dry out lips...

Anyway, I applied some on a pimple/white head and it kinda reduced its size. How often do you apply it?

I posted a whle back about the effects of jojoba oil on persons that experience acne. Applying straight jojoba will break down the accumulation of sebum and help to heal the acne. A mixture of equal parts of jojoba oil and vitamin E oils will help to 'heal' dry lips and can be applied as often as necessary.Tea Tree Oil, on the other hand, is VERY drying to the skin and should only be used on cuts to the skin to help heal them as Tea Tree Oil is a natural antiseptic. Tea Tree Oil should never be used on skin that is already dry - especially the lips.

The thing is... No matter how much I apply lip balm or jojoba oil, my lips will get dry like 1-2 minutes after it is absorbed or wiped off. I hate applying lip balm all the way....

It is always my bottom lip that is dry, but when they are chapped my top lip is affected. The top is always soft, but the bottom is always dry.

Its also worse because of the weather.
