Bumps on side of neck - Skin Problems Message Board

I think I am getting ingrown hairs but not sure. It hurts and is red like a pimple. But it will not pop and lasts alot longer than a pimple. It swells up and is sore. I am not sure of how to keep it from happening. Anyone else have problems like this? Any suggestions?

I have a short hairstyle and for me I always wanted to have no hair on my neck.That was becuase with that particular style of hair having hair on your neck look ugly and its ruinig the look of the hairstyle. I used to use a razor to remove the hair, however I would get razor bumps on my neck. My cousin suggested to me to place a warm towel on your neck(frequently) then a few days later use rubbing alcohol. Eventually they will disappear. Alot of hairstylist will suggest using rubbing alcohol when that actaully irrates it.Good Luck!
