I am itching in my genital area!! more specifically under my scrotem!! I don't know if I should just go see a doctor (which is really embarrassing) but I don't think i can take this anymore. it's beginning to feel very uncomfortable now. I would even wake up every night at around 2-3 or maybe 4 in the morning just because it starts itching. And this is very intolerable and highly irratating!! It's affecting my sleep and my school!it's been there for about 2 weeks now.. in fact almost 3. I purchased an anti-itch creme (which does NOTHING) and I tried strapping some bandages on it. Neither worked. The best solution I found was to put bengay on it because then it'll feel like it's burning.. (which causes pain) but then at least it doesn't itch.. for a few minutes... I don't know what it is.. I thought it was some form of herpes, but I suppose not... would it be jock itch? I don't know.. it seems like it's been here for a while, and it's not weakening. Also, itching occurs randomly throughout the day, but For sure, at night when I'm asleep already. When it does occur, I shake my legs jump up and down, or when I'm driving, I really shake my legs... even when I'm typing this message it's really itching!!! This is really scaring me now...

I had the same exact thing and it was caused by candida overgrowth. If it gets worse especially after certain foods like very sugary foods it probably is.To take care of it I would start taking some probiotics like pb-8 or something like primal defense (which is probably the best but start real slow like 1 capsule a d day). Go on a anti-candida diet least amount of sugar , dairy as possible and also sweating helps- anything to help sweating in that area like aerobics or sauna. I would not use antibiotics because you also kill friendly bacteria that feed on candida which probiotics are. Topically right now clotrimazole and pure aloevera together provided a temporary solution, Topical steriods work but in the long run not good. Aveno anti-itch concentrated lotion 4 oz for about 7$ was also a good temp fix. Hope this helps

Scabies

Scabies is an itchy condition of the skin caused by a tiny mite (Sarcoptes scabiei).

Symptoms

The mite burrows into the skin, especially around the hands, feet, and male genitalia. It does not usually affect the neck and head, although it may in infants.

The itching is due to an allergic reaction to the tiny mites, and is associated with a rash of red, raised spots. The itch is worse at night, and may often affect more than
one family member.
