Getting rid of moles......please read. - Skin Problems Message Board

Yo,

I'm 18 ad have several moles on my back/arms, chest, and worst of all, my face. I recently went to the dermatologist the toher day to get them cecked out. He assured me that they were completely benign and unharmful. Wow, what a load of my chest. I preceded to ask him to remove them. He then gave me some bad news. Because my moles aren't cancerous, removing them would be considered cosmetic surgery, which my parents medical insurance does not cover. Remvoing them would cost a fortune. I was shocked, I was looking foward to getting these ugly things off my body. I walked out of the office in anger and being very depressed.

I came right home from the der. office and started looking online for some alternatives to getting rid of moles. I did find one or two like garlic(I read if you put garlic on a mole for 3-4 days it would disappear..but why would you want to smell like garlic for three days?) and a special kind of pepper. Well I've been searching and searching and thought I'd ask around and see if anyone knew any home remedies or products that remove moles. My moles are very tiny(about the size of a end of a pencil point) but there's a lot of them on my body. I would GREATLY appreciate it if you guys can help me out with this. Does anyone know ANYTHING that might remove moles? I just don't have the money, nor do my parents right now. PLEASE HELP! Ask around to your neighbors and parents. Please help me out.

hello i read ur post. i---about acouple of years ago had my moles removed (one around my shoulder and one on my neck) ---my mom got me the appointment cuz the moles were unpleasant and sometimes got in the way and were irritating. anywayz it's this laser treatment thing. and i don't think it's considered cosmetic surgury. it only takes about 5 minutes to remove the moles that you want (well,thats how long it took me) and then they send them to be checked to see if they are "bad" moles. but like u said---that yours aren't. anywayz u should probably check into some1 who does laser treatment and i don't think it costs that much anywayz. if i get more info then i'll post soon.

I've been checking around to other Dermatologist and my insurance doesn't cover laser treatment which is considering cosmetic surgery if the moles aren't cancerous. Anyways, I was hoping someone here knows of a simple home/folk remedy for removal of non-cancerous little moles. Hopefully someone does. Please help!

other than the laser treatment then there is really nothing u can do to get rid of them. otherwise using maybe something else to try and get rid of them could be dangerous. sorry. hope it all works out.

Yeah I've heard of Blemish-Be-Gone. I'm a bit skeptical about ordering stuff online. If only there was simple secret home remedy! Maybe remedies for warts might work for moles...like putting a wet asprin or bananna peel on it. I'll try anything at this point!
