Hey Leah and Angela, the skin fungus you had mentioned is called Tinea Veriscolor, and from both your descriptions ,I don't think that's what you have. T.V. mainly appears on the torso of the body; chest, stomach, back( sometimes the neck, upper arms and groin but not typically). It looks like white blotches or spots (not small dots) when the skin is tanned and in the winter can appear as reddish brown slightly raised spots, usually about the size of a dime or quarter and are in clusters sometimes. What happens is a normally present skin yeast for some reason over produces in some people and the white spots appear because the sun cannot tan the area blocked by the yeast.Climate(hot countries),sweating and frequent excercising are some things that aggravate or bring on T.V.The "cure" for it is Selsun Blue shampoo 2.5% (1%is for dandruff,2.5% is for T.V. specifically)....................I think you both should go see a dermatologist, I do not think you two have T.V. .If you look up T.V. on the internet, some of the sites have photographs and you can compare what you have with T.V..Good Luck!
