Acne scars. - Skin Problems Message Board

My skin isn't really that bad, but once in awhile I get an outbreak of very large zits. I treat those zits with acne facial wash and Oxy medication, and they do go away...but they leave a dark red spot where they were. It's awful, these spots just won't leave! I've had some for months!
I'm really sick of covering these spots up with makeup, they are very hard to cover...and besides, if I leave them they will only continue to accumulate.
Does anyone know what can make these scars go away?

You might try gently exfoliating your face once a week with scrubbing grains such as 'micro' beads, or a mild glycolic acid peel, followed by a good moisturizer. It will probably take several weeks to see any improvement. Be sure to stay out of the sun or apply sunscreen, because the sun will often darken red spots even more.
