Exclamation cradle cap at my age

I have developed a patch of scaly skin on my scalp which I can only liken to the cradle cap my son once had, but I am in my 50's! It isn't sore and doesn't itch.I assume its some sort of dermititis. Any clues as to how to get rid of it?

Here's the thing, a patch of scaly skin can be one of many different things. You could have burned your skin with some sort of a styling product. Your scalp may be reacting to some shampoo or conditioner. It could be a weird fungal thing. (It's amazing what will grow on our skin.) It could be a vitamin deficiency. It could be allergies. It could be eczema or psoriasis. A patch of scaly skin on my scalp is how my psoriasis started. (At the time, my mother blamed it on the local pool. I didn't get to swim all summer. But then I was diagnosed and all was better.)

You could try putting some oil on it in hopes of softening it enough to wash it out. Or you could go to a doctor and see if you can get a diagnosis and a script. Really, I'm at a loss on what to recommend because we don't know for sure what it is, and I don't want to assume.

HTH,
