| Birth control pills and insomnia I started having insomnia about three years ago. By that time I was taking ephedra to lose weight. It worked but after a while I think it gave me problems sleeping. It makes sense since it increases your energy level, so I just stopped taking them but the sleeping problem was still there. I went to an accupunturist and after months with him he suggested to stop taking my birth control pills, since they are not supposed to be good for your body according to chinese medicine. So I did it, during the almost 10 months I did not take bcp I did not have insomnia at all. However I've also been taking homeopatic pills to sleep (recommended by him) but they have been working very good.
So my period stopped suddendly for about 5 months and I had weight gain too I guess due to the same hormonal imbalance. My gyn/ob adviced to go back to the bcp (mircette) so I could get balanced again. Result? INSOMNIA!!!! I just started taking them Monday morning and so far two horrible nights.
Anybody there with same problem?? does anybody know if this relation bcp and insomnia has been studied?? |
