I have sleep apnea and use a C-PAP when I sleep to help me breathe. I am currently using a Healthdyne Tranquility Quest, but the rental on it is pretty outrageous.

I am looking to buy a decent priced one but there are so many to choose from and I'm not sure how any of them perform.

I was wondering if anyone here had any experience with C-PAP machines. What has worked for you? What doesn't? Are there any brands you would recommend buying/staying away from?

my tranquillity quest was worn out and not worth fixing after only 4 years, the company has now been taken over

I suggest you try before you buy, theres a big difference in the balance between the effort needed to breathe in and breathe out between machines, also some are more noisy than others

Well, I'm behind on the rental for the Tranquility Quest ($100/mo) and don't currently have the option of trying a different one. I did notice that Respironics had taken over Healthdyne so I am no longer sure if I should even trust the merged company.

Thanks so much for replying to my post I was starting to lose heart. What brand did you switch to after the T Quest gave out?

I use a remstar machine, was only $350. I haven't used any others though.
