Is this a sleep disorder? Please help!
My boyfriend has, what I think is a sleep disorder. Wondering if it really is, and if so if there's any help that can be sought?
Once asleep he does NOT wake up. What is happening is that when he has an important thing he needs to be up for, we set 2 seperate alarm clocks, volume at maximum, and put them on the table right next to where his head is. I also put our telephone on his pillow. The alarms go off, and he doesn't wake up. I can call him over and over on the phone that is ringing next to his ear, and he still won't wake up. He will either sleep through all this, or else I have to come home from work or wherever I am and shake him awake. Shaking him awake is the only thing that makes him come out of it. And even after that, if I leave the room for a second, he is back deep asleep.
This is becoming a huge problem. He sleeps through work, he sleeps through appointments. He is on an anti-deppressant, but this behaviour was already present before he was on it. He drinks NO alcohol.
Help! This is ruining his life and making friends and bosses very mad - they don't believe that he could sleep through all this. But I've witnessed it - it happens. And I'm sick of having to spend 20+ minutes a day getting him out of bed when I am around!
