waking up in middle of night unable to breathe with sore throat?

Hi my name is April and im new here...... I'm a 23 year old female and I can fall asleep just fine but several times a week I wake up in the dead of night unable to breathe. I start wheezing like I can't catch my breathe and my throat is really sore and it feels like there's something in the back of my throat that won't go away. Normally I just get a drink of water and end up sitting at the computer (like right now) and it'll eventually go away. I am tired ALL the time even after 9 or 10 hours of sleep.. I cant do this anymore... anyone have any help or know what might be going on with me? Usually after one of these episodes the following day my throat is sore and my voice is hoarse.

Re: waking up in middle of night unable to breathe with sore throat?

Well I snore REALLY loud... my husband said it's progressively become worse. My room is generally about 68 degrees.. and no fans or anything because I'm always cold. I think when I sleep I breathe through my nose and mouth.... but I'm not really sure.. my nose isn't blocked or anything.

Snoring can be a sign of serious health problems, primarily sleep apnea. You should really see a doctor.

Good luck.
