not really a disorder.....but....

I am tired all the friggin' time! I had lumbar surgery five months ago, I do have cervical problems too. I was off eight months b/c of physical restrictions and surgery and have just recently one month ago returned to work, doing a full eight hours a day five days a week. I work evenings from three to eleven thirty. I get home, take a bath, get on the computer, read a mag and off to sleep by one am. I can't wake up to save my life. I have no desire to get out of bed, I feel like I could lay there forever and usually I get up around eleven thirty or noon. Then, I work out, eat and shower then off to work. By seven I am yawning, when I get home It is hard to stay awake. I just want to curl up and sleep. It is driving my husband crazy.
I am on anti-depressants: zoloft and wellbutrin and have been so I doubt it is depression.
I know my pain can cause fatigue, but usually it makes me just want to lie down, not sleep all the time.'
Any thoughts? Bloodwork done in December was all normal, and i have no other real problems.
Thanks for any ideas.

Re: not really a disorder.....but....

thanks for your concern, but my dr assured me they were okay. One is for anxiety, Zoloft, the other for depression, Wellbutrin. I went on the wellbutrin when I quit smoking, it was the only kind I COULD take with the zoloft. I am back on to continue to help with my not smoking and b/c of many things that have caused lack of happiness so to speak.
I appreciate the input though

I don't think this is very good advice. The various anti-depressants work on different receptor sites in the brain. So taking two (or more) can be quite beneficial. In fact, almost 50% of people who take ADs take more than one.

Also, it is never a good idea to stop taking an AD without your doctor's knowledge. Not only could your symptoms return, but some meds need a slow withdrawal process. Also, why take the risk? Depression is an illness with a 15% fatality rate (suicides).

Re: not really a disorder.....but....

I learned a while back that you shouldn't just stop unless your dr says it is okay. I was told the same thing, that these two treat different things and affect like you said, different receptors. I am finding though, If I stay up later, I will get up earlier. So, maybe I was falling asleep before my body was ready?? Who knows, but I was up later last night, got up earlier today, same thing last friday night. So, we'll see what time I get up tomorrow, since it is going on one am, and I am still going to take a nice warm bath
