Waking up after 4-5 hours of sleep?

I know this probably isn't a disorder of any sort, and I'm probably just being a baby about the whole thing, but it's kind of annoying. I'm 17, and as you could probably guess, I'm on summer vacation. I am up until 3-4 in the morning every night/morning. I go to sleep feeling tired and I usually pass out within 20 minutes of hitting the bed. But for the past month (roughly), I've been waking up at around 7 or 8 on the same morning, giving me about 4 or 5 hours of sleep. Normally I would not mind this, but I get very lethargic for the rest of the day and find it very difficult to fall back to sleep. I don't know about you all, but I sure don't like feeling lifeless for most of the day.

Have any of you guys ever experienced this? Is there any way I can stay asleep for at least 6 striaght hours and not wake up for no reason like I've been doing?

5 hours of sleep is a good stretch for me. Sounds like you need maybe an over the counter sleep aid for a while Tylenol pm ,unisom even Benedryl. Try one of those and you will probably sleep the whole night. True insomnia last longer and gets more frequent and bothersome.

Re: Waking up after 4-5 hours of sleep?

Thank you for the help, lharmon37. I'll first give this annoying little habit some time, and if it doesn't just go away, I'll try some kind of sleep aid as you suggested. I am so used to sleeping 7-8 hours a night, even when I go to sleep so late. I know some days I can function fully (and maybe even be a little hyper) on as little as 3 hours of sleep, but this past month I've been really out of it -.-
