Hey guys. I am up very early because I cannot go back to sleep from a horrific paralysis episode I just had. Basically I was having a very weird nightmare I guess you can say. The dream itself was not very clear, however this is what I believe sparked the paralysis. First off note, I was sleeping @ my moms house.

The dream consisted of some ghost/voice telling me to open the back screen door. At my dads I know this door to be very old and hard to open, and it has a very succinct sound when opened. I could hear that sound in my dream, and it seemed like someone was saying let me in, but I wasn't letting it in. I fought this and I guess this is when the paralysis began. Usually, my paralysis episodes happen with my eyes shut believe it or not. This one was a bit different however as I will explain. I was on my stomach, when I guess I got the realization that I was awake and so deep in a dream state. So basically I had MILD control over my brain, but my body was so fully asleep that there was no way in hell I could move. I guess it gave me the sensation that I was indeed dying (Which seems odd, since I've had paralysis before, but I guess sometimes when I'm having it I don't quite realize I'm having it)...

This is when it got extremely weird. In this state, since I felt as if I was dying and wanted out of this I tried SCREAMING for my parents. Albeit, I'm 20 years old and home for college, so screaming for my parents isn't something I'd typically do. However, even with all my effort no words came out. I probably only screamed in my mind. This is when it got even weirder. I don't know if this was lucid dreaming or if I actually got up and slept walk. Yet, I remember this because my eyes were open at this point (although vision was not good because I still felt extremely heavy/tired). Anyways, I took two steps from the bed, but then in my head told myself that I might get hurt if I slept walk, and dove back into bed. I laid there for maybe 10 more seconds (but who knows really). When I just said in my head, if I want to live I'm going to jerk my body out of this as hard as possible. I did. Woke up, lifted my head, and was so overwhelmed with exhaustion my head fell back down to the ground. I then (obviously) had more control over my body and mind and was fully awake. Shocked I got out of bed, brushed my teeth and came down to post this just to get it off my mind. A very scary incident indeed. I just feel so weirded out.

Symptoms: Episodes start with general bad dreams, then I always feel as if I either can't breathe or am dying (going to heaven), and this scares me since I feel like I can control my thoughts.

Are there medications for this type of problem because it freaks me out, and has happened numerous times (althoug not this bad)
