Cymbalta & Adderrall for Hypersomnia - Sleep Disorders Message Board

Well, unfortunately, I didn't hear back from anyone regarding Idiopathic Hypersomnia. I went back to the doctor and she told me to try taking the Adderrall only when I need to be awake. To limit it to a few times a week. Is anybody else doing this? Have you found a schedule that works? My body adapts to meds so quickly. She also put me on Cymbalta for my achiness. Has this helped anyone? I was told it would take about 3 weeks. I know it is used for depression too. I believe I am not depressed, but me being exhausted all time is what is depressing me.

Cymbalta helps with neuropathic pain. If you were to use Cymbalta for depression then you would start to see a difference in about 3 weeks however, when used for neuropathic pain some see a slight difference in as few as 3 days.

For whatever reason there is usually a quicker response from Cymbalta for pain than for depression.

Cymbalta may not take away all of your pain but it could make it much more tolerable.

Thank you! That is up lifting. I was told to take it at night because it could cause drowsiness, but it may also keep me awake, so if that is the case to take it in the morning. That didn't make much sense to me. Tonight will be my third dose.

Every person will react differently to meds.

I took Cymbalta at night because it made me tired but for someone else it will give them insomnia so in that case it's best to take it in the morning.
